How to learn piano chords on a Flychord digital piano
When my neighbor Bob bought a Flychord digital piano DP420K, I am always to be asked what is a piano chord on a 88-key digital piano. And I had a chance to have an access to the digital piano, not bad. Now, let' see how to make a right chord on a piano easily.A chord, in music, is any harmonic set of usually three or more notes (also so called "pitches") that is heard as if sounding simultaneously. the most frequently encountered chords are triads cause of consisting of three distinct notes: the root note, a third above the root note and a fifth interval above the root note. Further notes may be added to give tetrads such as seventh chords, of which being the dominant seventh chord. That is to say, when you play three different notes at the same time on a keyboard, you create a chord. The most commonly used chords are the major chords and the minor chords: a major chord "C" are three pitches: C, E, G; a minor chord "Am" are three pitches: A, C, E.
Define a chord easily on keyboard in C scale
When come to the digital piano 88-key, find the "C" major chord consisting of three pitches: C, E, G. For a "C" major chord, you should find the root note with your pinkie in your left hand. And then find the third note "E" with your middle finger in your left hand. It is four half steps above "C". Try playing the root and the third note together so as to get a sense of how the interval is supposed to sound. the last, find the fifth note "G" with your thumb in your left hand, it is three steps above "E", seven steps above "C". Then try playing play the three notes simultaneously to get a right sense of major C. Major F and major G are similar to major C. But minor "Am" is consist of root note A, third note C ( three steps above the root note A), fifth note E ( four steps above C). The same as Dm, Em. They are the most commonly chords in C scale.Play the piano with proper hand position.
You should consistently use the correct hand position whenever you are practicing or performing in order to play notes of music well. Four points below you should notice always:1.Make your fingers tall away the keys and curved, as they are diving into the keys. Make sure that the curve of your fingers are natural.
2.To push the keys with the weight of your arms not play it with the forth of the fingers
3.Play on the tips of your fingers, attention that the pinkie and thumb should not lie at any time.
4.keep manicure of your fingers frequently so that you can use your tips better.
when you play a chord, you should arrange your fingers properly at your convenience. you should make it more easy when you change a chord from another chord. for example from Dm7 to F as below.
